Dear Lone Wolf fan,
These books - which already faced stupendous delays due to Holmgard Press being forced to switch printers from the UK to Poland, then from Poland to a different company in Poland - have now been given an estimated arrival time of December.
We have been told this is due to paper shortages across Europe. Geltex, who provides the blue papers for our cover and endpapers, will take another six to eight weeks to deliver. Plus the good Holmen Cream 80gsm we've all grown accustomed to inside the books isn't available in the correct Demy-sized reels until mid-November.
In the meantime, I've been desperately shopping around, trying to find a printer that does have the materials in stock, but haven't been able to find any (except in India, or China, and they'd take even longer to freight the books to us).
If the materials arrive early we might be able to take delivery mid-December. But I'd rather give you a guaranteed shipping date, rather than guess. with Xmas shipping delays, the best course is to allow extra time for handling etc, and guarantee January 4th.
So I can now say, with reasonable certainty, that...
I'm tempted to stop taking pre-orders, and just announce books once they've arrived. Because despite doing this for a couple of years there always seem to be curveballs and delays. Let's see.
For now though, please accept my humble apologies and believe that I am more annoyed about this than you are.
Yours,
Ben Devere
